Default Wendy's Commercials... I need one of those wigs for DH

If you've seen the Wendy's Baconator commercials.. you know what I'm talking about. Basically.. its a man wearing red pigtails that kind of loop out (similar to pippy longstocking). I have no idea how to go about making one of these and thought that I would put the question out here to see if anyone might have a suggestion.

DH says he wants to drive around (he drives alot for work) and just wear it all day and see people's reactions.
BTW, this is for Halloween LOL he doesn't just feel like wearing red pigtails

If you know where I can get one or how to make one (out of yarn maybe but how do I piece it together) let me know!

If you can find a red wig, just take craft wire (or a wire cloths hanger!), thread through the braids, and mold into desired shape.

I did this one year for Halloween. I used a yarn wig that I braided with thin floral wire. I could then curl the ends up.

    Edited to add:

I think this would be a hoot! Your hubby has a great sense of humor!!

Check out the Halloween part of the stores, you may be able to find a red wig there. Then get some craft or floral wire and make the braids and shape them.

Not sure if this would work but hey =)... Get a mop head refill (the stringy type) and dye it?

I saw this and I thought maybe you could do something like this?

    <img src="http://cache.lionbrand.com/stores/lionbrand/pictures/60446a.jpg">

    MATERIALS
    620-102 Wool-EaseŽ: Ranch Red 1 ball
    1. Purchased straw hat
    2. 3/4 yd. [68.5 cm] of 1 in. [2.5 cm] wide ribbon
    3. Glue gun
    4. Double-sided tape
    5. Rubber bands
    6. Ribbon (optional)

    WIG

For braid, cut 60 pieces of yarn each 1 yd. [1 m] long. Tie pieces together tightly in the center using a double strand of yarn. Fold in half at the tie. Divide yarn into 3 bunches of 40 strands each and braid. Fasten rubber band or ribbon tightly around end of braid to secure. Trim ends. Repeat for second braid.

Cut remaining yarn into 6 in. [15.5 cm] pieces for bangs. Attach pieces to ribbon with double-sided tape. Position bangs with yarn-covered side of ribbon against inside front of hat. With glue gun, glue bangs in place. Glue a braid inside hat on each side.
