Our grocery store...

Last night dd and I had to stop at Winn Dixie on the way home from dance class, it's the closest to our house. We got there at 7:45. They close at 8:00! Is that a stupid time to close or is it just me? I thought they would at least be open until 9. What time does your grocery store close?

Most of ours are 24 hr---but some are around 10 pm.....

most all of ours at open til midnight. most all of the drug stores around here are 24 hours though. 8 pm is way too early for a grocery store to be closing! they're really missing out on customers by closing that early.

I live in a small town. One grocery store. I think it closes at 6:00 p.m.

I don't even go there though unless it's necessary. They are incredibly high priced, being the only grocery store for 29 miles.

I try to plan my trips and not forget anything. I go to the next town over usually.

Occasionally I go to the "big city" lol .. about 50 miles away when I need specific things I can't get around here.

Heck I even use the library there. Even the next town over has a such a small selection and aside from food, books are my next neccesity :-)

I never heard for a grocery store that closed befor 9. Oh well , I guess we know why winndiie is in trouble.

The one over in town is open til 9pm.

8 pm is standard closing time here. Once a week it's 9 pm and on Saturday's it's 7 pm. Most stores are closed on Sunday.

We have a few here that are 24-hours, but they are not on the side of town that I would want to be visiting past 10 P.M. anyway!

The ones around us close between 11 & midnight.

I'm so cranky that I just sent them an email. Told them that they are losing alot of business.

I'm going to start going to Publix, I like them better anyway!

The three stores in the three towns nearest to us all close at 6pm. One is closed every Sunday; one is closed every other Sunday; and the other is open 9am-noon on Sunday.

When we first moved out here, I would get these food cravings and not be able to hop in the car and get what I wanted (which I used to do in Omaha). When I was pregnant with our daughter, I was craving pimento cheese wrapped in tortillas SO BAD, but it would have been over an hour's drive each way to an open grocery store. I ended up making the whole thing from scratch. Hours later...LOL...it was the best pimento cheese wrap ever!

My Winn Dixie closes at 11. Publix closes at 10 in my town, but the one I work in closes at 9. I guess it depends on the location. Winn Dixie has closed so many of its stores. I guess it's scaling back hours in some of them to keep them open.

Oaktree - 9:00 - except on Sunday when they close at 8:00.

Winn-Dixie - there are several and their times vary from 10:00-12:00

Publix - all 4 close at 10:00

Wal-Mart - all are open 24 hours

Bruno's - most close around 10:00 - but one is open 24 hours

My dad lives one city over and the grocery store he uses closes at 6:00 every night. It has been in business since I was a baby and has always closed early and does not open on Sunday.

The commisary on Gunter closes at 6:00 and last time I checked it was closed on Sundays also.

Stop and Shop and Price Chopper are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Aldi, Shop Rite and Shaws have set hours but I am not sure what they are. If it's late I just go to Stop and Shop or Price Chopper.
