Default First really chilly morning here.

Woke this morning to a little chill in the air, and that was in the house! But I'm not turning that heat on yet. Hopefully, by noon it will be warmer. I'll make one more trip around the garden to see if theres any veggies I missed,(would love to find some tomatoes) but I think thats wishful thinking. Time also to pack away the hummer feeders, flowerpots and watering cans, and put the garden to bed for the winter. I must say, I got lots of veggies this year, I have containers of minestone soup in the freezer, pepper strips, and will freeze some pumpkin this coming week. I've already been thinking about next year's garden, adding a few items that freeze well will be a good idea, as store prices have gotten out of control there. Everyone have a great day, and don't foget to take a minute and admire those beautiful colors if your in an area that has been kissed by this beautiful Fall weather.

Cold & rainy here too. We want to take the kids apple picking, but I'm thinking it may be a bust with the rain and the cold combination.

It's 59* in the house & I'm still not turning on the heat

You are both braver than I am. We turned on our heat last night...just too chilly. Hopefully it will be warmer next week and we can turn down the thermostat.
I'm taking the last ditch garden stroll myself today. I think I have some squash left out there and maybe a tomato or two that we can have on that last summer sandwich.

    Happy day all!

Hee Hee I'm not turning it on until November

Today Boston is sunny and chilly. Puddles froze a bit last nite and there was frost on the plants this morning. I think I'll make some lentil stew, some french onion soup (does anyone have more than 1 crockpot, BTW?), and harvest the last of the thyme when I get off work. Have a great Fall day everyone!

It's 54 degrees outside, we didn't turn the heat up either, we could (as heat is inculded in the rent). I kind of like that it's cooler inside now. Our apartment was stuffy all summer. I am at my mom's sitting near a sunny window with a sweater on. We picked pumpkins for $1 each and I think I will carve mine the last week in October .

I was very damp in the house this morning. I went to turn up the heat to take the chill out and guess what my furance isnt working! I am sooooo mad! I had it cleaned out and needed a new 500 part which we had installed a few weeks ago. It does work to produce hotwater but no heat. Now we have to wait till Monday for the heating man to come out!

Default I know I'm in a different part of the country

Today's the first day I've worn long pants. The high is 85 and the low is 60. 60 is cold for me but I've been leaving the house open since it's gotten under 100 and bundle up at nite.
