Got a really good freebie today
DH and I got our mugs of coffee this morning and sat down at our computers to go online, our usual routine. No internet connection. We tried all our little tricks which usually fix it and nothing. After two frustrating phone calls to our ISP (got disconnected the first time) we figured out our modem went out.
We live in a small town and the only stores that sell computer stuff around here is Staples and Radio Shack and neither one had any modems. DH ended up calling a friend who said to swing by, he had a couple of modems. He had two of the exact same modem that we needed! (brand new) And gave us one for free! Woohoo! Up and running again. I love our friends

I have two spare modems. One, the first one I ever had, is a slow dsl modem. The one I'm suing now is the faster one, and then I have the newer one they sent me when I re-signed up for dsl this time. So if mine crashes, I'm covered.
