Sense of Happiness
Do any of you feel a sense of cheerfulness, indulgence, or joy? After you have your place completely cleaned or accomplished what was on your to-do list?
I myself noticed this last night after just cleaning off the coffee table and started lighting candles around my apartment it was such a gleeful peace of mind that I hadn't felt in quite sometime.
I would like to hear from you about your stories of how just the little things matter with this experience.
Cheers,
Precious

Yep, I do. There is nothing better than feeling like you've accomplished something you can actually see.
On the other hand, I'm in a depression now because all I can see is clutter and mess.

I just dug out (aka decluttered) my living room last weekend and its now presentable to have people over. I am able to light candles w/o worrying if something will catch on fire.

I have purged my shelving in my bathroom of products that have either expired or I just dont use and it makes a huge difference. I have also purged and re-organized the mega rack in my junk nook as well and removing piles of stuff from the floor is a huge relief from my shoulders!
I think decluttering for me makes me excessively happy b/c "I" see the difference. My dad on the other hands notes whatever's NOT been decluttered
But I think thats just his way of trying to encourage me to keep going.
Tackling one area at a time does make me feel better b/c in the end the whole basement will be done....and boy, I cant wait!

I'm pretty much always happy. Nothing is perfect, but I love my life and enjoy everyone in it. I am happy even when I don't get everything cleaned and accomplished.

I do feel a sense of accomplishment especially when I get ALL the things done on my list for the day....which doesn't happen very often. My sense of accomplishment on my home chores happens on Saturdays. I love sitting down in the afternoon with a cup of coffee, candles burning and looking around at my cleanliness.

I have been going through rough times lately, but cleaning and de-cluttering are two of the few things that TRULY make me feel happy lately. It's a great feeling! On the other side of the coin, I get pretty depressed and cranky when things get "messy". I suppose it's b/c it is one of the few areas of my life I feel like I have complete control over and when the mess spirals out of control, I get very anxious.

It is a good feeling to clear out the clutter and deep clean sometimes, but I don't get anxious about it like my dh does. He can go off the deep end about it once in a while, and it is not fun when that happens!

I'm a homebody, so that may be why I take great satisfaction in having the place looking clean and inviting. After the cleaning is done, I love put on all the zillions of little nightlights (I'm obsessed with dim lights), or build a fire, put on the music, and sit and relax with a glass of wine.
I know I'm boring. But I've had my share of socializing, and it just doesn't excite me anymore. I like a quiet evening at home.
I'm also obsessed with cleaning out cabinets, drawers, closets, etc. I like to go thru each one about once a year. I don't consider it clean if the cabinets are cluttered.

Fellow homebody here, Mari.
I'm happiest when I'm home and doing a needlecraft or cooking or reading.

But yes, it IS nicer in a clean home.
