it pays to read your bills
i have been agonizing about how to pay a $1000 lab bill
for prenatal stuff for the past month. then suddenly today I actually looked at my insurance account and double checked the bill and realized it had been submitted to my old insurance so the discounts and things were never taken, additionally we will have reached the deductible with this bill so even without the allowable discount 500 of this bill is the insurance company's responsiblity.
Relief so I resubmitted the correct information online and now I feel a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders

That's great! I'm about to spend a day making my insurance company explain some things to me too. I have my policy, and I'm reading and highlighting, and comparing it to bills.

Did the same thing a couple of days ago... Took my DD4years to the DR for a cold, and they asked me for my insurance info... UMMMM I was just in a week ago, and I thought I had already given it then. Sure enough they billed the wrong insurance... Glad I caught that one... I would have been soooo confused.
