New Frugaler=)
Hello All,
My name is Ashley. I am new to this site, but I found it very informative. I am 24 years old, and I am trying to save money to pay off old credit card debt to finance a mortgage. It is a long haul and gets very frustrating at times. I find hope in knowing that if I continue to not frivolously spend I can own my own home, be debt free, and work towards financial freedom. I am definitely in the beginning process of financial freedom. But I have a down fall. I am a SHOP AHOLIC!! I buy things to feel better about deeper issues. Like family problems, self doubt, relationships, and just plain boredom. I love getting packages in the mail from eBay and when they arrive, I get a high. But as soon as I place these items lovingly in my apt, that feeling seems to dissapate. Then I am back at it again. Its more of an unconscience thing. I find myself also making up reasons to spend. Like "this item will make my life more simple, and easy to manage". But in reality it is digging me deeper in a whole, and a huge hole for many years to come if I dont STOP NOW! Recently I have decided to cut back on Pepsi, coffee, driving to and from for non emergency reasons, eating out, and frivolous spending on anything other than groceries, ciggs ( until I quit smoking- which I am working hard on)and gas. I feel alot better about myself but encourage advice from others, cuz this lifestyle is tuff. So if any one has advice for me and shop aholic syndrom please dont hesitate. Thanks
