I just heard on the news that Walmart is now selling its greeting cards and books at the US price instead of the more expensive Canadian price, about frigging time

What do you mean "about frigging time"? Do all Canadian retailers sell books and magazines at US prices in Canada, or do they use the Canadian price? Is WM the last retailer to lower their prices? or the first? If no one uses the Canadian price, why is it there?

Im sorry I worded that wrong,,,the Canadian price is always higher on greeting cards, books, magazines. For example on the book it will say Can 29.99 then US 15.99.Wal Mart in Canada is now making our price the same as the price in the US

That's awesome - considering the Canadian dollar, it is about time. I read an articll on this lately and Canadians tend to pay much higher prices on the same stuff sold in the states (~30% I think, but cannot remember for sure).

Right now I think its just Walmart that is doing this. Our government is trying to get other retailers to do the same.

I just wondered about the "about friggin time"....it was almost as if the OP implied that they EXPECTED WM to have lower prices than other Canadian retailers.

I don't think the OP had an expectation that Walmart should be lower than the others, but rather that it was 'about friggin time' that SOMEONE lowered the prices.

It is about frigging time because our dollar is very strong right now and we were still paying higher price on item.I excpect every retailer in Canada to give us the best price possible.
Not sure why my post is offending you, if it is

I am also relieved that prices will be lowered to reflect the stronger canadian dollar. Don't know how long it will last, but we should appreciate it while it's here. Yippee...
