Default this may just be easier than I imagined...

ok folks... here's the story... I've been wanting to start chiseling away at our debt and cut down on our expenditures... Yesterday, while I was working on my menu's and inventory, my hubs came in the kitchen and asked what I was up to... when I told him, he got excited.

Then when she heard us talking, the DD16 came in and she thought the idea of planning a menu for a whole month sounded cool... she even wanted to start cooking more than just once a week. Being a Jr., she has the privilege of "open lunch" on Fridays... but she'd just been eating at school... she suggested that she would come home on Fridays and eat lunch with me... and that she might start taking lunch once during the rest of the week... and the money saved would go into the BIG JAR (we have a huge mason jar that I've designated to save for vacation next summer).

I think that this could easily become a family adventure... wouldn't that be so fun??

It would ease a lot of pressure and maybe be a little fun for everyone to be involved!

It does make it easier when you've got the whole family involved.

It is nice when everyone is involved. My family at the moment is helping me clean out cabinets and inventory all food items.. Two cabinets a day, during the week, it is too overwhelming watching little kids and them in the middle of it. Hopefully when the weekend comes I can get more done.

It's great that your DD wants to come home and have lunch with you. These are special years when they are teenagers. Great that the family is behind you on the menu front - it certainly is a good way to save a load of money

YEAH! That's the way I think families are supposed to work. Once in a while, mine does, but not often. Kudos to you and yours!
