Sweet
Hi all. I found the forum when my curiosity about Aldi go the best of me. I found lots of info here, and I think I saved a million dollars on my first shopping trip
Thanks for the tips!
Now I would like to get my credit cards to zero and start saving for a downpayment on a home for my boyfriend and I. Pretty neat to see what some of you are doing, as well as how you are tracking it and supporting each other. I want to play, too!

Wow, I didn't expect to wake up this morning to such a warm welcome. Thanks!
Counted my rolled change this morning... Now I know where it's going to go- my $1500 credit card, the one that's charging me interest.
Since I didn't say too much in my first post, here's a little bit for anyone who might be interested:
I live in an apartment, my nearest "neigh"-bors are horses. My living room looks out over an indoor riding arena. Rent is cheap ($250) and I don't have to pay any utilities- they even let me use the washer and dryer in their garage. In exchange, I ride train and show the horses belonging to the owner here. It's a nice arrangement. He pays for my horse shows and riding lessons, and when we make a significant purchase, we split it.
My boyfriend of 1 year lives less than 2 miles from me. I haven't moved there because he has a housemate and only one bathroom. Call me a wimp, but that's hard to deal with. The home is almost 200 years old, and it's beautiful! We're going to do a few minor upgrades and then try to sell it. Plans are to move a little farther into the "country" and have some land. We are out of the suburbs here, but close to the highway and not too far from civilization, so people want to live here more and more it seems. Taxes are outrageous, and we don't even have sewer or city water. I want to be secluded and to be able to garden, hunt a little, and have our horses at home. A big dream is to quit my job in IT and train horses and/or board them.
I plan on itemizing my bills so they're in my sig, like a lot of people have here. I have 2 credit cards totalling almost 4 grand. Eek. And I owe around $24,000 still for the '05 F250 I bought 2 years ago. At least I got 10 grand off when I bought it. Part of me wants to sell it and get a beater (provided it can get me through the snow) and the other part thinks I should keep it and own it free and clear some day. I'm really not sure what the best thing to do would be.
Thanks again for all of your replies.
