11 yr old sick, long
He started saturday nite after getting his haircut at First Choice. Came home and very high fever. I was at friends house helping her with her 3 kids , latest is only 1 1/2 months old and very colic. Im helping her with her depression.
Anyways he never broke the fever it stayed at 101f. He was eating and his bowels lately have been constipated so Ive been giving him lots of fruit and whole grains. Still lots of pain and no go for number 2.
Yesterday he went some in the bathroom but ended up we took him to the hospital and the Dr. said its not appenditicitis, its just his bowels again and gave us some liquid stool softner that would do the job. He told us were not doing anything wrong with his diet that 11 yr old needs more water and thats why nothings moving.
So last nite gave him his dose and this morning he up chucked it all over the floors. poor thing. If the fever which they think is a bug doesn't go away in the nest 2 days take him back. His fever is staying away this morning with the tylenol , thank God.
S0ometimes whats mother do to. I called the school to cancel this weeks and let them know he wont be making it. This Thurday and Friday is report cards anyways.

Oh no, I hope he gets better.. sounds like what my 10 yr is starting to get over. It started with a fever, then moved to a stomache, now we are talking three days, no appetite. Then he started to cough, and sniff around. Went to bed everynight by 6:30 and even took a nap, every day he missed school. I couldn't shake it. Then finally I sent him to school after 3 days and made him go through the day until I got him to the doctor.. she said (get this) it is just a cold. Well he came home and another 4 days of aches, stomach, no appetite. And we have missed a few tests, progress reports are coming out. So I really feel for you. Also he is just slowly feeling better. I am at my wits end also. I am just making sure he drinks, eats a bit and thats about it. Sure looks like some kind of virus flu???

thanks everyone. this morning he threw up after he had a little breakfast and some tylenol. no fever anymore. I've been getting some liquid in him today FINALLY.
i had to give him a enema kids one and it worked. But that only does the lower end of the bowesl and Im worried about the rest of the bowels that may not be emptied yet. So tonite Ill try again for the liquid treatment (15ml) and see if his stomach can handle it. Ill coat the stomach first with ginger ale and crackers to help. Hopefully that will totally cleanse him After that if any pain comes back , hospital again.(No family doctor here). Hubby said.
Oh Blue Cross came through this week off his check so thats $50 a month taken off. We didn't get full one, couldn't afford it. At least the precription are paid for and only have to pay 20%.
