Had to transfer money from savings
I know this is why we have savings, but I HATE, HATE, HATE taking money out of savings. Yesterday, I had to transfer $4600 from savings to checking.
It's going to pay for property taxes, Christmas, etc. I'm so bummed out. Yes, I'm glad we had it saved, but I still didn't like it one bit! So now I'm going to treat that as a debt and squeeze, squeeze, squeeze the budget to get it back into savings. I'm also putting the credit card away pronto--we pay it off in full every month, but it's just too convenient lately. I'm going to buy the rest of the Christmas presents in cash.
Just needed to vent and whine a little! Thanks for listening.Mom to two crazy boys

Sorry
I hate taking money out of savings too, even though it has been saved for a specific purpose, I just hate to see the numbers drop. Great idea to treat it like a debt and to put the CCs away.

I'm with you all too, even though it's been saved specifically for a debt I just HATE to take it out to pay it off

I know exactly what you mean. I'll be saving up, putting extra money in savings because I want it to go up,up,up. And then you gotta take it out. Which is exact opposite of what I was so focused on. Yep, that sucks!

Thank goodness we're all sensible enough to save and have it in the first place. Imagine if you needed the charge what you took out of savings?

Yesterday I had to cash in some savings bonds to pay property taxes on the house we're trying to sell. Oh, it hurt. Those bonds were bought for my kids' education and for retirement.
I'm in the process of starting an EF. I don't consider bonds (an investment) an EF.
