I hear ya on the pricey shoes....I don;t own a pair of shoes that I paid less than 50 dollars for....my current faves are my 105 dollar "earth" brand shoes. I wear a 11 slim and have had foot surgery for nerve damage in my feet - there is no price high enough for my feet to not hurt and not be numb. I current am wearing my 100 slippers - yup 100 dollars! I am going into my 6th winter with them and they are as ugly as all get out (my dh just walked by and told me they were as "ugly as sin") - I wish they would finally give up the ghost so I could justify getting a new pair.

This thread is so funny. I'm reminding of whenever a famous actress is walking down a red carpet and some annoying person from Entertainment Tonight is yelling, "WHO are you wearing?" lol. Wouldn't it be fabulous if they said "Goodwill. $2.99!"

Banana Republic khaki's (extra long): Free brand new from friend (must not fit her?!)

White Mountain clogs, super comfortable, about $14 at Gabriel Bros.

I am wearing clothing on my upper body, but I don't know if I got a deal on it- I'm assuming some kind of discount was involved as I got my henley and cardigan from Kohl's.

This is a neat thread. If we did this every day, I think I could shame myself into spending less money on clothes.

Right now old jeans, long johns, old barn shoes, a t-shirt, a turtle neck, a hooded sweatshirt and my nasty NASTY old barn sweatshirt with a vest. Can you tell I just came in from chores? LOL

And on the "who are you wearing" comment, have to laugh and tell a story. In the horse world you have to dress to the nines for the show ring, the "designer label" clothes cost an arm and a leg! I root through the Goodwill store for my show clothes, I have one jacket that I JUST LOVE and so did everyone else! Time and again I'd get chased down after I came out of the ring, people wanting to know where I got that BEAUTIFUL jacket! I'd laugh every time and tell them (much to my husbands embarassment) GOODWILL, $2.50 !!

Yep, not to proud to show off a frugal moment

My 'mom' jeans for 12.99. I'm going out to do yard work, so --. I never did understand jeans becoming a fashion statement, I have always thought of them as work pants and outdoor pants.

Also a sweatshirt I got on clearance, can't remember how much, maybe 4.99? And a turtleneck underneath, have had it too long to tell how much, is probably 20 years old (but cute with autumn leaves).

And old tennies, on clearance, I think I paid $20 for.

I am wearing an Ann Taylor pant suit that I got at the consignment shop on clearance from last years winter sale. I think I paid about $15.00 for the outfit and it fits like a glove and is sooo very "expensive" looking. I love to shop at my consignment shop when they are having sales!!!!!

~Today I'm wearing my $200 Tahari jeans I paid $40 for, $6 slippers, a .25 Gap thrift store thermal top and one of my hubby's sweatshirts. I paid only $15 for the unmentionables because one was 75% at an outlet and the other was a free VS promotion. ~

I'm at work wearing my faux suede black skirt and designer blouse (don't remember which one) for a total cost of $10.00.

If anyone is interested in online larger-size women's clothing that is fairly cheap (especially their clearances) and well made from what I've seen so far, and they have both professional wear and casual--

    http://www.jessicalondon.com/

Their sizes are 14W to 34W, both in talls and petites. I got a pantsuit for ds's college grad that I paid $35 for, (pants, shirt and jacket.) It looked very nice.
