Default its always something, isn't it?

some of you may remember back in the summer our ac went out, we got it fixed and thought everything was hunky dorey. when it was getting cool enough during the day not to run it i turned it off completely but noticed the curtains above the vents were still moving. huh, air was still blowing out of the vents even when off. so it turns out to be our curcuit board had a short and friday when he came out we thought things were fixed. nope, that part that replaced back in sept. is already bad and only had a 30 day warranty. how can you buy a 350 dollar part and only have a 30 day warranty? so we have an 80% chance of rain, sleet and snow here today and tomorrow and us in a total electric house with no heat. i guess we'll finally be getting some use out of that electric blanket someone bought us for a wedding gift.

Wow I sure hope you stay warm and the kiddos too, there should be a longer warranty on a high priced item like that.

Ouch, that hurts!!! I agree, stupid to have such a short warrenty on an expensive part...especially one that ought to last way more than 30 days. That's frustrating!

Any chance of going through the maunfacturer? Wouldn't hurt to give them a call and complain...in a nice way It sounds like it may have been defective to start with, just hat it wasn't niticed to be defective till the warrenty was over. Its Christmas time, maybe they are in the giving spirit, who knows? Worth a try. Hope you get it fixed soon. Stay warm till then. Glad you have an electric blanket!

One other thing, could you borrow a space heater or two from friends, family, or neighbors till its fixed?

That is such a bummer! I'm glad y'all are staying warm, though, and I hope the A/C guy is able to exchange the part.
