Black Friday Bargains?
Did anyone else brave the crowds and get any great deals? I scanned the ads on Thanksgiving night. On Friday morning I went to Macy's at just after 6 a.m. and bought myself a Breadman bread maker for 1/2 price, $40 instead of $80. I can't wait to try it out! I'm trying to calculate how much bread & pizza crusts I'll need to make before I break even from store bought prices...
So it was about 30 minutes of chaos for me, then it was back home to my warm slippers and coffee!

I didn't venture out. I'm happy for your good deal, you will so love the breadmaker!

I was working, but my grandpa went to Sears at 5 A.M. for a Craftsman tool set for DBF (Christmas present) that was 1/2 price.

We started before daylight and went at it almost all day. Although we did not get as many item bought this year as we normally do. However, the deals this year were not as good as they have been in the past and we have only bought a small handful of gifts. We have a long way to go to finish up, but we will get it done in the next week or two. DH and I really enjoy the togetherness of it all and had a blast people watching and just hanging out. We did not have to be concerned with what the kids were up to since they ad spent Thursday night with their grandparents and then on Friday they went to see "Fred Clause", "Mr. something's Wonder Imporium" and had lunch at Mellow Mushroom with Grandma.
On to our purchases...........
~We did get 4 Cherry Blossom scented Wallflowers and two sets of refills for $30 (this will take care of two gifts and then leave one for me). Since the Wallflowers and refills are regular priced at $12.50 each, we saved $7.50 on each one. Plus, you got a free gift with purchase (set of 4 body sprays) that will go in DD's stocking. This was the best deal of the day for us.
~We also went to Abercormbie & Finch and got my nephew a shirt for $12.50.
~At Linens & Things we found a king size heated mattress pad cover with dual control for my MIL & FIL. After the sale price and my 20% off coupon it was only $40. I budget $100 for their gift so this item kept us $60 under the budgeted amount - yay me!!!!
~We ventured into Hot Topic (which takes a lot since the music in there drives me NUTS)looking for something to add to DD's gifts and found a couple of items. We got her a Transfomers Bumble Bee t-shirtand DS an Ultimate Fighter Challenge t-shirt. They were on "sale" for buy 1 get 1 50% off. Since one t-shirt was $26, and the other was $20 (we got it for $10) we paid $36 for both. We then found a Transformers jacket that was not on sale but DD has wanted it for over a year. We got one for her and one for her boyfriend. The two were $90 together.
~Sears had the hand held electronic games on sale for 50% off and got DS a football trivia thing for his stocking for $12.50.
~We decided to head to Best Buy after we went to lunch and got DD another iPod. She wanted one that would do videos and would hold more stuff. The one we got her was $199.99 and you got a $20 Best Buy gift card. This gift is from my mom and paid for by her (but she let us keep the gift card). DD had previously agreed that if she got another iPod she would give her brother her old one. Since it is only a few months old he said he would take it.
We went into many stores but just did not see anything I really wanted to give as gifts.
Today we bought 3 $25 iTunes gift cards from Best Buy.com and their special was buy 3 get 1 free. So, we used the $20 gift card towards these. For $55 out of pocket we got $100 in iTunes g.c. for the kids. Each one will get two $25 ones in their stockings. This had to be our second best deal for the weekend.
WOW - I am long winded tonight....

I did not take part in all the craziness BUT I did get a deal at WalMart later in the day. I went to look for an MP3 player for DD, knowing that I wouldn't be able to get the one I saw in the ad on sale from 5am-12pm. I got there Friday evening and while I was looking in the case at all the different MP3s, I noticed one in the corner that looked alot like the one in the ad. It was the only one of it's type in there so I asked the Walmart associate to take that one out for me and check the price. Lo and behold it rung up for the same amount as the "doorbuster" price in the ad! (Woo hoo!) As I paid for it, the cashier commented, "I thought this price was only good for a few hours this morning." Yep, I got a bargain without having to fight the crowds.

We had already finished our gift shopping, but wanted to venture out anyway...love the people watching.

We needed some pyrex and Walmart had sets for only $9 each!! They're usually $22 each here...so we got 3. Now we're SET!
Our house clothes have been getting really worn out...we usually wear sweats or pj pants... Well, JoAnn's fabric had lightweight print flannel for only 99 cents/ yard!! WOO-HOO!! I got enough to make Dh 2 pairs of pants and 9 pairs for me!!! I also got elastic by the yard (for waistbands) at 50% off! That'll come to appx $3 for a new pair of flannel pants!
I got a fleece blanket for $4 (it's cute...blue with snowflakes!).
Dh got a bunch of new socks at 50% off...which is GREAT because he'll only wear really nice boot socks (like $6/pair regularly!). Now he's set for a couple more years.
We didn't spend much...sure had fun hunting for deals!!!

Wow, those are some great deals!
Believe it or not, I've never once went shopping on a Black Friday.

I'm not one who likes crowded stores and mayhem too much. *Grin*

Sears had children's winter coats for 60% off, and a coupon in their ad good for $10 off on a $50 or more purchase. I was able to buy three nice heavy children's coats (one for my 11 year old dd, and one each for my two grandsons, ages 8 & 12) for only $59.00 total, including sales tax.

I went Black Friday shopping for the first time ever! Woke up at 4am and was outside Wal-Mart by 5am. I got a Sony Cyber-Shot camera for 1/2 price! I've always wanted one but refused to pay close to $200 for one. Then headed over to KMart and got a Holiday Projection Screen (for outside the house display) for $14.99, normally $30 (refused to pay full price for that as well) and will have this up for every holiday as they give you approx 36 images (New Years, Valentines, Memorial/Labor Day, July 4th, St. Patrick's Day.....
Got someother deals over at Kohls as well but the above 2 were my BIG purchases LOL!
