AAGGHH!! 3 Kids Needing Glasses At The Same Time!!
So I finally got everyone's eye appointments taken care of and the result was that 2 of my dds needed new perscriptions plus the baby will be needing to wear glasses for at least 2 hrs a day.
I'm counting my blessings with this situation-
at least all of the houseapes didn't need glasses
my older 2 ds pay for their own glasses
I had a medical emergency fund set up
I went to Eyemart & b/c I took all 3 kids in at the same time to pick out their new glasses, they gave me a 10% off discount for each kid
When all was said & done,I paid $293.44 for 3 pairs of glasses-that's new lenses & frames(2 of which were the flexible, kid proof ones) - and 2 of the glasses were bifocals. I thought for sure that I would have to pay double.

Sounds like not a bad deal! I know after insurance my one pair alone was over $200. But yes, I had to go and get the cute ones.
Also, what about buying used frames? I would assume the Dr. would let you bring in any frame to fit lenses to. I have not done this myself but realized that next time, if I replace these frames, I should just look eBay for some nifty ones.

You did good! Not bad for three pairs. BTW--Your handsome little one (in your avatar) is adorable.

You also reminded me about something -I have always tried to keep the costs down w/the frames & when a kid had to get a new prescription, I would just have them replace the lenses. But this time I couldn't get away with doing that idea...doggonit, why do kids have to be so rough on things??lol.

My 6 yr. old grandson has been wearing glasses since he was 2, and believe me, they don't make glasses kid proof enough for him, LOL.
I think you did extremely well on the price. Especially for three kids.
