Hi From Pennsylvania!
Hi! I am a 32 year old mom of two, and wife to one...(LOL).
I live in PA, where we recently moved so my husband could take a police officer job in a rural area after many years in a violent city. I am very happy to be where we are, but it has been financially challenging.
I used to be very frugal, but lost touch with this perspective two years ago when I was able to work full-time in the publishing industry (my husband's schedule allowed us to both work full-time but still keep the kids out of daycare). It was wonderful to have two incomes, but I think I lost sight of enjoying life for what it is, and became a complete glutton.
Now I work part-time in a career/job I really enjoy.
Anyhow...frugal by choice or necessity I can't really say...LOL But I want to be frugal again.
I want to save money, but tend to spend it with the attitude of "It's just sitting in the bank anyhow...what will I use it for?" Isn't that aweful?
My mother always said that if "it is in your hands, honey, it is good as spent isn't it?" I do have this terrible fear that if I don't spend it, it will somehow disappear...okay, I've read Suze Orman's book and realize this is probably a much deeper issue with myself! LOL
Thanks - I look forward to learning and gaining a connection with my former self! LOL And with other thrifty people!Last edited by Sillyhippiemom; 12-08-2007 at 08:01 PM.
