So annoyed
My neighbor, who I used to be good friends with, filed bankruptcy about 6 months ago. They hid away a large sum of money when they filed. Since everything has gone through they have gotten all new furniture, redone the walls (new paint, etc.) and today I saw them getting new carpet. They constantly are going on vacations, going to the spa and out to eat and buying new stuff.
I can't even be friends with her anymore because how they blow money completely annoys me and I know they are going to end up right where they were...

Wow, I don't like people who do that kind of stuff. They have no shame.

I know lots of people like that.. then later on they will say.. I don't even have gas money...
It will catch up with them.. Or if they are like the kind I know, they will talk with me and get advice and then do it anyway.. Waste of my breath..

My state has a lot of bankruptcys and foreclosures right now.
I think it was 2005 or 2006 where the bankruptcy law changed and some people here filed quick.
Apparently if they missed the cut off they would have had to pay the debts back.
Anyways... I got so frustrated when I saw the NEW, twice the size, homes they bought?
These people were rumored to pay nothing for 6 months while still here except utilities.
Then to leave and get their dream house?
It doesnt make sense?
Some of these kids go to school and brag to my kids about their new homes and all the new electronics and room decor their parents bought them?
My family just bites our tounge...

In another 10 years they will be right back where they are now. Filing another bankruptcy.

It's really sad that some people have no shame at all, and the things they're teaching their kids, sigh.
But, it WILL catch up to them, one day soon.
It also hurts to lose friends no matter how/why you lose them, and this is the loss of a friendship, I'm sorry you're going through that.

Rather than deplete personal funds they file for bankruptcy? It is a crime to hide funds in that manner.Bad things happen to people like this. They seem to be in one jam after another- losing jobs, constant worries, continual money issues, fear. You never really get away with cheating.

I feel bad for ending our friendship as her little boy loved hanging with my boys, but I can only bite my tongue for so long. I have tried to kindly give her advice and she still even calls me for some at times, but she never listens. I just can't keep watching her do this. I am a stickler for rules and I know what she did was illegal, she even told me it was...

Not only is it a crime, but it is a sin also! They will get theirs in the end. People are just ridiculous!

I'm sorry you lost a friend this way that is so sad. I can't believe she did this and then to go out and buy all new things maybe they think it makes them feel better when really it doesn't. So sorry about your friendship.
