    Default Update on my Mom

For those of you who have been following this for 6 months, my mother is now on hospice. As best I can tell from the pamphlet they left, she is probably in the last few weeks of her life. I was back out (again) last weekend, and rode with a friend so I did not have to drive the 3 hours each way. She has 24/7 nursing care, and it is working well for the msot part. There have been no crises for the last 3 days (relief!) and her voice sounds stronger again. She sleeps a great deal of the time, and is not interested in much of anything, but was proud of my nephew running in a marathon in Dallas. She eats VERY little, and is drinking about 16 to 20 ounces a day. I hate to admit it, but I am glad I don't live there and have to watch this process - but am also very glad that I am close enough to run over on the weekends as often as I have. I am not planning to go this weekend, but will go at X-mas with my DS (coming home from college on the 20th). I THINK I am pretty much prepared for anything.... I won't really know until it is all in the past. We've had some really good talks recently, and of the 4 of us girls - 3 have become very close again (the 4th is not outcast, just busy with other things in her life that she considers higher priority). This is rough to go through - and I can't think of anything that would make it any easier. I am so appreciative of the support I have gotten from my friends, both at home and on the Village. It does help - ALOT. Thanks to you, and Merry Christmas!

I am sorry to hear about your mom but glad to hear 3 of the sisters have bonded again, out of every sad thing a good thing comes. I am sending my prayers to you and your mother at this time of need and God Bless and Merry Christmas to you as well.

This is a very difficult thing to go through. Take care of yourself because you'll need your strength as time goes on.
