    Exclamation Even Penn State...

issued a weather warning today! That means something serious is up.

This is my 3rd year here where we get months of snow, and classes have never once even been delayed in that time. When you open the curtains in the morning and see 8 inches of snow ... you put on your boots and go to class! They won't bat an eye. So they must be expecting something strange.

Any crazy weather systems where you are?

We have a snow advisory in our area for tomorrow. It looks like we are in for very heavy snow in the late afternoon evening and up to 8 inches of snow is expected to fall. Blah!! Winter arrived a month early here and I am tired of it already!

I didn't know you went to Penn! My good friend and her BF are there (PhDs in meteorology). I hope all it well.

Stay safe, snug and warm until it all blows over.

Nothing extreme here except for blinding fog for the last 4 mornings. So bad though, they have had to close the mouth of the Savannah River each morning which means the Port pretty much closes down until after noon. Hubby has had to work late every day this week. We usually have pile-ups on I-95 running through here when it's this foggy, but so far so good, and I hope it remains that way.

I'M in Northeast Ohio, and usually we get more severe weather than anywhere around us, but this year has been comparatively calm.

Last night's snow-turning-to-freezing rain amounted to 1 inch of snow and some lightly falling ice pellets this morning.

    I'm almost disappointed.

Yes, life must go on in places like these when severe weather hits. Most people are used to it and know how to get around in it. Sometimes there is significant snow on the ground for months at a time, and you can't afford (literally) to let it stop you from going about your business. This is why I have a 4wd vehicle. I wouldn't be able to make it out of our driveway some mornings if I didn't.

As suspected, our classes went on even though all school districts, daycares, and even gyms are closed! But it's not even bad outside. Sleeting, but hovering around freezing so it's pretty slushy. Whatever, 4-8 inches. Always crying wolf.
