Which do you think is cheaper???
My daughters daisy troop was asked to help out a church with putting together 20 8" stockings for children in the area. I have only about $10 I can put towards it (I'm extremly tight) and my aunt donated $25. Do you think it's better to go thru Oriental trading (you can get more for less) or a dollar store? I'm thinking dollar store. Even though Oriental trading has GREAT prices... I'll have to pay $6.95 shipping.
TIA

I think you would do just as well at the dollar store.

What would your taxes be on the $35 you would spend at the store? Is it less than the shipping at Oriental Trading? If so, I would go with the dollar store. Have fun picking out the goodies for the stockings!

Yeah it would be less. It would be $2.45.

Have you called Oriental Trading to see if they will waive the S&H fees if you can provide proof that it is for the needy? Most all companies do community projects and they might be able to provide more than what you expect of them.

Before heading to the dollar store, I would check out some other stores first. Our (true) dollar store, has everything for a dollar...sometimes in a package of 2 for a dollar, but not much better.
I've sometimes found better deals at Wal-mart in the toys or party section and also at our Factory Card Outlet. Our FCO has a sales rack, and you can sometimes find some really neat stuff for 10 or 20 cents.
Good luck!

Be careful of the time frames if choosing OT. I have noticed that they take a long time to ship and depending on when you need the stockings, you may not have enough time to get the stuff in the mail.
