You can dry their skin out and sometimes make it worse by bathing them too much. Bella gets bathed at least every 10 days either by the vet, she has a spa day or by us depending on the weather. She doesn't really smell that bad but for some reason her feet smell so they get washed every day, I use a wet rag and then dry them really good. Seems to work!

I give my furbabies a bath or shower once every 7 to 10 days; maybe sooner if they get a little too dirty. I use an oatmeal based non detergent shampoo. We have lots of dew in the morning and the sand sticks to them like crazy.

Frannie goes to the groomer once a month for a good bath, nails clipped and filed, teeth brushed and body massage.

Then we bath her at home every week to ten days as well. We have three different shampoos for her. One is a mild, tear-free puppy shampoo, one is a flea shampoo and the other is an oatmeal shampoo. If her skin is read and ichy we do the oatmeal, if it is time for more Frontline (if we see a flea)then we use the flea shampoo and for just a regular old bath we use the puppy shampoo.

DH does her nails about once a week and I do her teeth about as often. She cannot go a month without having her nails and teeth done so we have to do it on the weeks she does not go to the groomers.

I only bath my dogs when they get dirty or smell bad. Sometimes that is alot (like whebn they spread the fields) and some times they go quite a while.

My dog gets a bath very rarely, but I am proud to say she had one about 2 weeks ago!

We bathe Chewie every 7-14 days. He is a mostly indoor dog, so he doesn't usually get too dirty.

Baxter only gets it during flea season, or when he stinks.

Not very often. If you bathe them too much it dries out their skin and can exacerbate any skin conditions they might be prone to getting otherwise. He's a rather large (Rottie) indoor dog too, but he doesn't seem to have much of that "doggie smell," so he doesn't get a bath that often (thankfully for me beause it's a big pain!).

If they are fed a healthy diet (and by "healthy" I mean one that agrees with your individual dog's system...they are all very, very different), it cuts down on skin issues, doggie smell, and shedding...or so I'm told.

Gypsy is white, so she gets a bath every week. My last dog was black and got one about every two weeks.

Abby Chihuahua is the house dog so she gets a bath usually every 7-14 days. Dixie (Lab) and Daisy (Bloodhound) reside outside and usually get one only when they need it. Dixie usually hits the pond for a swim several times a day.

Oh my. All of this dog-bathing going on, and here I've been dating DBF for over a year and I know that his doggie has had only one bath in that entire time.

He shaved her for the summer, does that count as a grooming? lol.

I think I have a project this afternoon if he is still out deer hunting...

I try not to bathe Chubby except when he needs it, his skin would be to dry otherways. I probably bathe him once every two months or so. He only goes to the groomer once or twice a year, I have him shaved before summer, maybe once a few months later. Its really hot in the summer, and really cold in the winter, so I just let him grow a full coat come winter. He looks like a completely different dog when he gets shaved!

Probably about 6-8 times a year. I have two inside dogs that don't get very dirty or stinky... LOL!

My golden used to love baths so when she heard the shower on you could bet she'd be in there with you ~ most times she just wet ~ no shampooing. She went to the groomer every 6 weeks for a bath, haircut, nail trimming.

My lab HATED water so only had a bath when he got overly stinky.

DD's dog is white so she has a bath every time she comes home from the dog park
