Up Bright and Early!
I got up this morning bright and early! I woke up with my hubby as he was getting ready to go deer hunting. I could have stayed in bed but I just couldn't get back to sleep. So up I got! It's a beautiful day starting out. I cranked up the wood stove and opened all the window shades. I took down some curtains to wash and and hang out today. Fed my cats. Warmed up a cup of coffe and came on here. After I write this I'm going to make muffins. I've been using the receipe from "Tighwad Gazette". You can just throw in almost anything. They've been turning out so good. Today I'm using up some cranberry juice & shreaded wheat crumbs. I'm going to throw a couple of handfulls of chocolate chips in too. I'd better get busy, I've got a busy day ahead and I'm getting hungry.ENJOY your day!

The muffins did turn out great! My hubby even commented on how good. I forgot to mention that I've been taking the zest off of lemons and oranges and freezing it. I added a teaspoon to the muffins. Well I'm still on a roll. I love days like this. As many of you know I'm going through the change, this must be a very up day. I've washed and hung out the curtains., filled my bird feeders, cooked some eggs to go with the muffins, figured out the pay and where it is going, checked about batteries for grandkids birthday gifts and did my foot exercises. Cool! I'm loving this! It also helps that my hubby has 2 and 1/2 days off starting today! I really love having him home. He putters around and gets his stuff done and I do mine. He didn't get a deer, he most likely will go out again this evening.I like to read when everybody else is getting things done. It motivates me! Have a wonderful day!

you are certainly having a power surge -- it's nice to have a good side to the change isn't it? I can smell those yummy muffins from here.... I've been promising to bake for days but have not found the energy.
You must be so happy -- a clean house, laundered curtains, and homemade muffins. Life is good!!Jen

I had a day like this too! I cleaned my basement. We use our basement so much that it can get really cluttered: it's the pantry/laundry/exercise area, the guys keep their clothes down there, and there is a bathroom. So I cleaned & mopped, and threw away a big bag of trash. I love a clean house

I've been using the basic idea of making the muffins from the "Tightwad Gazzette". I've been just throwing in all kinds of stuff and they are turning out great! The ones I made the other day went like this: I had a bunch of shredded wheat crumbs that I had been saving so I took 1/2 cup of them and added 1 cup of crandberry juice and soaked that over night in the fridge. To this I added 1 1/2 cups of flour(I use whole wheat and white Mixed), then I added 2/3 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of orange zest, 1/4 cup of oil, 1/4 cup of sour cream, 2 eggs and a little water (about 1/4 cup). Add 2 handfuls of chocolate chips. I baked them at 450 for about 18 min in muffin tins that I put shortening and flour on. It made 1 dz reg size and 8 mini ones. I hope you can follow this. ENJOY!
