Anyone Up For a 'Wesley-ism'?
I just had to share this store about Wesley.
Yesterday we had to run to the mall to return a sweater, pick up a few little things. When we were in Target, I found a penny on the floor. I picked it up, stuck it in my pocket to put in Wesley's piggy bank.
As we were walking towards the other end of mall to get to the car, I kind of had an ah-ha minute. I gave the penny to Wesley to hold onto ( a very dangerous thing to do when the kid eats everything he can get his grubby little paws on) and I told him what to do with it. I was kind of nervous because he tends to do exactly the opposite of what he is told.
My little man marched right up to the Salvation Army Bell Ringers and put his little penny in the bucket. Those bell ringers just fussed over him telling him thank you and Merry Christmas and Wesley looked at them, his little chest all puffed up with pride, and said "You wewcome. Mewwy Chwistonomous. BYE GUYS!"
And with that he came running back to me. Now I know it was only a penny (I never carry cash) but I was SO prooud of my son.
Sorry for bragging, just had to share.McD

Awww! He's such a big boy.
PS. my kids *still* love throwing all the change they can find into those red buckets. There's a HUGE one at the mall, they practically live for throwing change in there at Christmas time.

I keep reminding myself of this moment everytime he does something ornery. Like this morning when he said I was gross.

LOL, reminds me of the time my then 5 yr. old oldest dd told her pre-K teacher "I didn't ask momma to bake cupcakes for the Valentines party yesterday cause I only remembered to ask when daddy got home from work, and she turned really frumpy (meaning grumpy) when he got home." Her teacher called me that night, laughing, and said she told Jennifer that she totally understood, LOL. She said Jennifer then asked her if all daddy's make momma's frumpy sometimes? She said she wanted to say "YES!" but changed the subject, LOL.
Just for the record here. I wasn't frumpy ie grumpy at hubby LOL, I was just tired from working all day, trying to get supper on the table and wash clothes at the same time when the washing machine decided to die on me as hubby pulled into the driveway from work.
Thank you so much for sharing this Wesley story. It totally made my day!
Please give Wesley a little hug for me, will ya?
