Default 2nd year I did what came natural :)

I never dreamed that adopting a baby when I had pre-teens would bless our family in so many ways.

Teens and Tots don't mix they say, I'm not so sure I agree with that?

Anyways, this is the 2nd year we just did what WE felt was right, fun, and meaningful.
I didn't follow the world like I did when my teens were babies LOL.

In the past I did things out of guilt that did not make sense to me during the holidays.

I'm not anti Santa, in fact the idea never even occured to me one way or another.
But with this toddler, I never remembered to bring up the whole Santa thing.
Again this year I forgot to bring Santa up...not even once?

I'm so surprised that I trusted myself for once that I Googled it just now.
Wow!!!! There are tons of normal old regular Joes like me not doing Santa.
There is no real reason, no religious reason, it just wasnt pushed, no big deal LOL.

Doesnt it feel good when you follow your gut and you didnt know you were following???!!!

How great that you never even saw it and then a light shined through.

What a good mom you are and what a lucky child to have you. Happy Holidays.

    Default I understand

what you mean. Our DD is almost 2 and there is 14 years between my two children. We haven't been big on Santa with her. I just realized the other day that I wasn't really doing anything to explain Christmas to her. She goes to preschool and they had a Christmas party, etc... We only put up a small tree, as we didn't want to hassle with the whole putting together, worrying about the cat and DD bringing it down. However DH did ask that I wrap her pressies in shiny paper instead of recycled paper bags like I did everyone else's. But one thing I realized they kept us from going on Christmas/Santa overload was we don't get cable TV - thus watch very little TV at all!! We actually kept Christmas toned down a great deal, giving used/recycled gifts or ones bought on mega sale or with coupons. Yeah, I have learned since my first child -- I don't regret how I raised DS, but instead I am doing things differently this time around.
    Happy Christmas everyone!
