no more lurking
i've been lurking around for several months and have really enjoyed all the ideas and wisdom from other posters.
i'll give you a basic financial background:
i am 25 and a sahw.
i am paying student loan payments for a degree (bsj in advertising) i've never used, - we hit the 15k range on it (down from around 25k total) - we pay extra on the payments every month
dh's truck is paid off, i have around 26 payments left on my car, but again we overpay by around 50 dollars every payment, so most likely less than 26 left to go
i don't handle the finances so i couldn't tell you about the house payment but it is also overpaid every month.
no atm cards, just checks, cash, and rewards credit cards that are paid in full every cycle.
dh contributes the maximum to his 401k,
post tax percentage of each check goes to savings
I spend way too much on groceries - 100-120 for 2 people per week-10 days
i buy way too much junk i don't need - every trip to target or walmart = 60-100 dollars worth of stuff
i have good intentions but clutter has taken over!
i want my to remodel the kitchen and there is no reason we shouldn't be able to afford it debt free if i would quit spending on junk!

Welcome!
I have a problem at Walmart and/or Target as well. Now, I go in with maybe $10 extra {above what I have on the list} and it really helps with the over spending. Especially when they have such great clearance sales!
I think a spring yard sale may be in your future!!!
