Hello to all
Hi! My name is Molly and I live in Indiana. I have been looking at this site for quite a while. I have always been somewhat frugal, but now it is becoming a necessity. My husband's factory is closing down this year so we will lose about 75% of our income. With two daughters, ages 14 and 10, it will be quite a challenge to live on unemployment while my husband goes back to school (on the Government's dime). I work two jobs. First job is as an instructional aide for an elementary school and second at a residential facility for mentally challenged adults. I am considering a third job within our school system for two nights a week with adult education. Whew! I still find time to go to all my girls' activities, swimming, tutors, drama and choir productions, etc. Along with reading about two books a week and crocheting a lot of the time. Then you add in church.... you get the picture.
I like to cook and try to feed my family for less than $5 per meal. Just lunch and dinner, not breakfast. I can do breakfast a lot cheaper than 5 bucks! It is very interesting to see how you all do it.
My biggest challenge is fast food. We are soooo in the habit of just getting something out instead of fixing food at home on busy days. I am trying out my croc pots! I am interested in more recipies for side dishes, not just meat dishes. Got that one down pat! Maybe even desserts.
Thanks for reading!
