Default Rising Grocery Price Alert Thread

I haven't noticed if anyone has started a "Grocery price increase alert" thread yet & I would like to start one.I think that all of us could benefit from this as it may help us to be on the look-out for rising prices - taking them into account when we write out our grocery list.I realize that we all might have different prices due to where we live & various savings opportunities..so here is what I found today(not pretty)

    I went to Sam's:
8lbs of spaghetti noodles -last month- 4.42. This month 4.88 (.46 inc)
5lbs shredded cheddar cheese -last month-12.57.This month 14.07 (1.50 inc)
    I went to HEB:
1/2 gal canned apple juice(for the baby)-last month- 1.19. This month -1.47(.28 inc)

Where I live NO STORE offers double coupons & the "sale prices" that they offer are an absolute joke. Alot of them are "if you buy so many of brand X that you don't buy anyway -you'll get some other stuff that you don't use either for free".(according to what my family eats - might be different for others though.)

I'm curious as to what price increases everyone else has noticed.

I should have added that the brands that I buy are the lowest priced that these stores have to offer.

Oh yes! I hear you on the price increases. The milk is the most significant. I buy it at a 7/11 as it is $1.00 cheaper than a regular store. I asked the guy if he had gone up .20 since the summer and he confirmed. It's all about the corn and growing it as a fuel alternative. Now that oil just hit a $100 a barrell, I don't see these prices falling.

And now it looks as though citrus fruit prices will be going up due to the freeze in Florida.
