I *never* thaw meats before putting them in the crockpot. Yesterday I had a 6lb bone-in pork sirloin roast. It went in the crockpot straight from the freezer, solid as a rock. I cooked it on high from 10:30am until 6pm and it was falling off the bone good

Well it's cooking, I put it on high just to be sure. I will in the kitchen all day working on a cake so I will be able to keep an eye on it to see if I need to turn it down to low. In the past I have only cooked bonesless skinless chicken breats. It's the first time I cook drumsticks with the bone in and skin. I just threw them in with BBQ sauce, I'll let you know how it turns out. If they look icky and the end of cooking I might throw them under the broiler a few minutes. Have any of you cooked chicken with the skin on in the crockpot?

I do it all them time. If you want them to look bbq'd though, tossing them under the broiler for a few minutes will do the trick Just means more dishes to wash..lol

Like I said, I never defrost anything that's going in the crockpot

I make chicken thighs (bone in, skin on) in the crockpot all the time. We prefer the boneless skinless thighs but they are hard to find here lately.
