Our foster dog has found a forever home!
What a bittersweet evening. I have packed her food and pills, her new toy and the two old ones she came with. She is 10 yrs old has some hearing loss, some arthritis, many pounds overweight, and a very bad haircut.
The original owners moved and could not take her with them so they handed her into the shelter. Once the Sheltie Rescue knew about her they took her in and gave her to us. She has been with us for a month and has become more youthful and playful. Her new forever home is with a middle age couple that have some other youngdogs to help keep her active. They see Mandy as becoming the indoor dog as the husband works out of state and is gone 1-2 weeks at a time. I think the wife is going to love having Mandy at her side.
The picture is from New Year's Eve. Mandy is on the far left and my other two have figured out how to look at the camera when it is picture time. The picture with Santa was a fund raiser for the Rescue and Mandy is in the corner. It was taken about a week after we had her.The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

Congratulations!! It's always so hard to let them go!
We foster for a local Boston Terrier Rescue. It's amazing the reasons people give for having to give up their dogs....

So cute! It must be hard to let her go. I have to give you credit...I don't think I could foster dogs. I would fall in love with them and then not want to let them go! So Kudos to you for being strong enough to love them, then let them go to another loving family!

She is a beauty. What a shame that she was taken to a shelter, but what a blessing that the rescue took and brought her to you. I am so happy that she now has a forever home.
It always amazes me that people think of their pets as disposable. Our vet (who also works closely with the local no kill shelter) recently took in a 7 year old lab mix that was brought in by an older couple that wanted him euthanized. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him, they just did not want him any longer. The vet refused to euthanize him and asked them for a donation to neuter him and get his shots up to date and then told them they would find him a good home. We were going to give him a new forever home but when we took our furbaby over to meet him, they took an instant dislike to each other, they both like other dogs but not each other
so we were not able to give him a new home but hopefully he will find one soon.

She is gorgeous! Congrats on her forever home

We have two shelties, also. One sable, just like your three and one blue merle. They are great dogs...barkers, but great lol.

How kind of you to foster animals. The dogs are beautiful & the cat is beyond beautiful with those eye-liner eyes !

Awwww, I know it's hard to give her up, but I also know you are so happy that she has found a wonderful home with people who will love her and she deserves that. I'm fostering a Bloodhound now, but we stand a great chance of adopting her as soon as her previous owners go to court.
God bless you.
Love your kitty. What beautiful eye's!
