You'll probably think I'm weird....
But I LOVE LOVE Dance Dance revolution!!
DD10 got it for Christmas. They dragged me into playing. We do "dance offs" so far dh is the champ..lol. Who'd have thought. It's fun, we do it a couple times a week.
Low and behold I find a work out mode on it. So for the last week, I'm using it, and i"m moving! I really enjoy it. It's not the most vigorous workout, but I break a sweat. I'm up to 30 minutes, approx 130 cal per session gone! Good for the heart. And it's here and not costing me anything to do it. I like the gym, it's just so hard to get to. I'm trying to lose weight too. The thing is, I LIKE! It's not a work out, it's a challenge, can I beat my high score? Can a get a longer combo this time? Can I do a whole song with no boos? It challenges me mentally too, I think that is the difference..lol.
Dr. Oz says you need to walk 30 minutes a day, don't even need to break a sweat, just need to get moving. He actually mentioned ddr on one of his appearances, which is funny. So while it's too cold right now to walk...I'm still moving! YAY!!

We paid too much for her set up, but she asked at the last minute. Ebay you can get a game and 2 pads for about $40 for hte ps2 anyway. It's a great concept. And even I'll play this game. The kids get a kick out of it.

I have friends who swear this game is just as much fun for adults as it is for kids. I haven't tried it, but I've seen it. We thought about getting it for the kids for Christmas, but went another way.
We might have to try it out though, it sounds like fun!

Yep we like it too! We have the Wii version which has you doing hand motions as well. I think it's as good mentally as it is physically. I'm waiting for the WiiFit to come out in the spring. Supposedly it's a blast and good for ya. While I'm sure it won't replace my daily workout, I'm all for having more fun and burning calories at the same time!

We got it for out 9 yr old dd for Christmas. I haven't tried it out yet, but my older 3 kids are playing it almost daily. I like that it gives them their video game time, but exercises more than their thumbs.

I had one and didn't really get into it - maybe if the music were different - so I sold it on ebay for about $20 less than I paid for it a year before, that's not too bad I guess.

We want to get WII. We like that there's so much movement with it. I'll be watching the classifieds for one though.
If it's something I can play and mve to I will. The only other video game I'll play is tetris..lol. But have a hard time with the controllers these days.
I'm happy to see I'm hot the big weirdo on this one..lol

LOL this is me to a T! Id only play Tetris and any other puzzle game and then the dance game. My sister has nosey neighbours and they forced their way over for a 'visit' and then tried to impose this game on us at the same time! Ugh! I think I'd like the game just not with the neighbours!! Lets put it this way, I'd rather spend the cash to get my own vs using theirs

But if you're moving, sweating and having FUN thats all that matters - just be active and no I dont think you're crazy at all -- you're getting a "return" on your "family" investment. Good job!2012: The Year Of The Purge!
