Hi Everyone from Southern California!
Hi to everyone here. I am new to this board and wanted to introduce myself.
I was a stay at home mom for 12 years. But unfortunately, I have recently gone through a very difficult divorce after 18 years.
My interest in this board is that I am on an extremely tight budget now that I am on my own and supporting myself. I am having to start all over again in the work force, and therefore starting at a lower salary range than if I had continued to work all of these years and move up in my profession.
So, money is very tight, and while I was married, it was not like this. This is new for me, and I am actually very excited about learning how to be more wise with my money, and learning to live a more frugal, and simple lifestyle.
I have already discovered a greater appreciation for what I have.
But I have bills to pay, and a future to plan for. This board has been inspiring for me. And while I can see all different levels of frugalness, I know that I will find a place to fit in here just fine.

from another single mom who lives in one of the highest cost-of-living states! There are lots of us here, who have been there, still doing that. I know the feeling of looking around at your house, job, etc and said "Just whose life IS this??!!!"..not what you imagined at all when you walked down that aisle. I was one who ADORED being a SAHM.
There are lots of hints on this site...Pinecone Research, NFOMySurvey, and MyPoints are staples in my life. We're here for you!
