    Default Motivate me!

How do you get motivated to get up and do your housework?

I slept until 10:45 (a rarity for me, I usually can't go back to sleep after 7 am), I'm working on my third cup of coffee, and I still can't get up off my tush and do my housework.

I need to clean the bathroom (there is a Pop-Tart ground into a tile floor, go figure that one out ), fold the laundry, change laundry from washer to dryer, wash my bedsheets...the list goes on and on.

for one, you cant do a darn thing sitting in front of the computer. Shut it off.

set a timer for 15 minutes and walk into each room that needs help, something done.

Hi Gina Long time no see.

Well, I turn off the puter as bRATmom said and pump up the music, vow to clean a room or do a project before I can check back in on the puter again. Then I sit for a few minutes and go do another. Now, STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER!

Well, I did turn off the computer for about thirty minutes, lol. I managed to fold and put away the laundry in the dryer and change them over. So I'm rewarding myself with computer time.

Eat the biggest Hershey bar you can find for energy and then work your butt off to shed the calories, LOL.

    Works for me!

Sometimes I can't to be honest.....it takes me awhile, too

Other times I get going and feel so good about what's been accomplished I want to finish the rest so I can have fun. I usually like to do the work before the play.....so the play can motivate me.

I do pretend like someone is going to show up in a given amount of time - and how red my face would be! I usually use 15 minute increments in each of the major rooms and go to town...watching the clock as I go.

I make mini goals and rewards. Mop the kitchen, read a chapter of my book. Vacuum the living room, 15 minutes on the computer, scrub the bathroom, read 2 chapters...you get the picture . It keeps me motivated and I get things done quicker.
