Those Little Pleasures
Do you have those little pleasures that you cherish, but they don't cost a thing, or at least, not very much?
I love the smell of a can of coffee, just opened. What a pleasure it is to me to just hold the can and deeply inhale. Hubby, bless his heart, indulges my pleasure. Once he got up before me, and came back to the bedroom holding a just opened can of Folgers. What a wonderful way to wake up!
I also take deep pleasure in hearing rain on the roof. Our bedroom is under the eaves, and it is so comforting to listen to the rhythm of the falling rain..... (wasn't that a song?).
On a similar note, I like waking up, realizing the early hour, and blissfully slipping back into the depths of sleep.
At Christmas, I enjoy putting the lights on the tree, then turning off the house lights and just sit back watching the glow of the tree.
I love eating the hot crust of fresh baked bread, with or without butter.
When I was a kid, growing up on the farm, there was something wonderful about stepping into the barn on a frosty morning. The cows kept it warm, and their low mooing made a welcoming hum.
We don't have a hot tub, but I love slipping into a tub of hot water and just leaning back and relaxing completely. I let the water just massage my body, and I have at times actually fallen asleep there! I also love Hubby to give me a massage. Like the tub, it just relaxes me all over.
How about you? What are the little pleasures in your life?Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.

Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

Putting my feet up !! We have a double recliner so Ahhhh bliss .. Zzzzz *lol*
Also getting my feet rubbed has become a lovely thing.. Joe does a great job with that normally while i am rubbing his neck.
My ferret Dexter giving me kisses on the cheek. Or him reaching out his arms like MOMMY PICK ME UP!!
Sleeping til i feel like waking up instead of to an alarm or a phone going off.... i really wish that would happen more often.
The nice cool blast of air you get when you open the fridge on a hot day.
Oh and the wiggling and tumbling in my belly from ellen gale moving around in there *G*

Aawww, that one is soooooo sweet!
I loved that too when I was 'with child'.
Mine would be just after I've settled into bed at night, Gripey and I have said our g'nite's and I love you's. I turn over to sleep on my left side b/c I can't sleep on my right (bad hip) and he puts his hand on my neck, right there where it meets my shoulds and gives a slight rub. I find that so comforting and reassuring. It makes me smile before I go to sleep.
I really enjoy going for a walk in the sunshine for exercise. My arthritis feels so much better if I work out on the gazelle b/c it's much less high impact than hoofing it on the track but I much, much prefer walking in the sunshine.
Watching Days of our Lives with Gripey while we eat our lunch. We practically throw rotten tomatoes at the tv screen somedays but we love it and look forward to that time everyday.
Seeing a sweet baby, anywhere, in a good mood and someone who really appreciates it loving on it makes me almost cry.
Weighing in every morning and realizing that dreams really can come true....even though I'm not to my goal just yet, I almost am, after 20+ years of being obese.

I love the smell of fresh coffee too, I love to stand in the isle when someone is grinding coffee beans at the store.
I love having my hair brushed. On the same note I love having my hair washed at the salon.
I enjoy the smell of spring and fall mornings.
I like snow days.
I like to sit outside at night and look at the stars.Challenges

This is going to sound weird, but I've discovered the strange relaxing power of just leaning back, on a couch, in a recliner, etc.
Getting email (that's not spam), and especially getting cards (cost money, but not for me
)
Seeing a new blossom on one of my lilies
Tea (I've found it as cheap as a box of 100 bags at Dollar Tree--1¢ per cup!)
Being inside during stormy weather. I love stormy weather with lots of rain, wind, stuff blowing around!

Sitting on my balcony with my beautiful plants.
Looking at my balcony and plants while in my living room chair.
My kids telling me that they love me anytime they call and the big hugs I get when they're on their way home after a visit.
My friends when they call just to talk.
My bff who calls me just to hear my voice when she's upset, or calls me just to tell me that her and her kids love me to death.
Walking in my apartment that I've finally finished decorating and going AHHH because it's so cozy and pretty.
My used red Jeep Cherokee - wheelies YAY!

Coffee, the smell and the taste.
Being greeted by all my dogs when I come home from work at 6am.
The smell of the horses, intoxicating to just put your nose down on their withers and take a HUGE breath.
Sammy greeting me in the morning for his grain and doing his little ADD head toss.
The smell of fresh cut hay on a warm summer day.
Laying in bed and smelling the hay drying.
The first sharp frost on the fields.
The peepers in spring reminding me the world is waking up.
The sounds of the wild geese, coyotes, and crows.
The roosters welcoming the morning.
Fresh free range eggs.
Laughing at my turkeys showing off for thier grain.
Watching a cranky mare become a loving mother the moment she sees/smells her newborn foal. Oh, and the smell of a new born foal, better than puppy breath!
hmmm, bit of a theme there, and a TON more but I'll stop.

That first green bit poking out of the ground telling you "It's spring!"
My little girl the way she wiggles onto my lap like a kitten with her eyes closed when I wake her up in the morning
Hearing "I love you, Mom"
The fresh smell when you first get out of the shower and towel dry your hair
The smell of towels when you pull them out of the dryer - I bury my face in them every single time
When I hear little feet on the stairs on a weekend monring as I am downstairs working - I am always so happy they are gettnig up
