Free Sunday Morning
What do you like to do on a *free* morning?
My boyfriend had to work today and won't be home until 4:00 or so. There are so many things I can do and love some time to myself. I did a bit of cleaning, some floor exercies, had breakfast and my coffee but I think I'm going to go exploring!
I just moved to the Milwaukee area 5 months ago and do to time constraints I haven't just jumped in my car to explore in quite awhile. There are so many little towns/areas I haven't seen. I think I'll take my camera and see what I can find.
Have you ever just jumped in the car and taken a drive with your camera in tow?

We often explore the town we're working in on Sundays. Usually looking for the nears flea market.
Milwaukee has lots of great things going for it. Number one is its long history as a town. Number two is its variety of enthic groups. Number three is its variety of festivals.
I'd make time for the Historical Musenum downtown, worth the day. I'd watch the paper for up coming festivals. And come summer time the number of concerts and art shows. Are you near one of the county parks? Most have something happening all the time. My grandfather used to play almost every weekend in one of them. Parades are another items to watch for.
Come summer I recommend you take one Sat or Sunday and drive to Racine for the 7 mile flea market. Take your good walking shoes and a rolly cart. Worth the trip. Don't forget to pull up whats happening at State Fair Park. I recommend the cream puffs at Muellers.
Does the Sential still put out the green pages? My mom always had clippings from things listed there that we would go and do.
"There always time to Go Down By Goldmans." Used to be a huge departmentstore with everything under the sun. Walking throught different parts of town can be a true food adventure.
For day trips out side of town I recommend : Frank Llyod House on the Rock, The Dells ( ride a duck), Olde World Wisconsin and on a clear calm day the ferry to Ludington, Mi.

oh, Laurie....thanks for the ideas....West Allis is my neighbor!!
My boyfriend Scott was born and raised here so, luckily, he has shown me tons of great things.
I think he mentioned that Goldmans is either out of business or going out of business.
I'm in love with the historic 3rd ward....the new public market and everything along the lake, including the Windy Point lighthouse.
