Can I use these checks?

The Old Man has an account with a bank that was bought out or changed names or something last year. The bank said we could still use the checks we had (with the old bank name) and when we run out, to order the new checks with the new bank name.

I thought we were on the last of the old named checks so I ordered new ones... we used them... we have none left of the 'new' ones, but I found a set with the old name on them.

It's the same routing and account number. We are completely out of the other checks. Do you think I can use the 'old' ones? I already tried calling. When I finally got past the automated... I got a voice-mail.

As long as the routing number and account number are the same you can still use them.

I dont see any reason that you couldnt use them so long as the numbers match. Im sure they all go through some automated system anyhow that reads the numbers and not the names (for instance when your address changes you can write in the new one) so if you can do that then I see no reason really that it matters what actual bank name it is.

Plus it saves you money to use up those old ones!
