    Default Wow what a month......

I everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and new years. Now that my busy time of the year is over with I can finally get around to playing on the computer while at work. Between our Christmas rush and post holiday shippers and then the cleaning up and re organizing things have finally gotten (somewhat) back to normal at work. There for a while I didn't know whether I was coming or going.

Then to top that off Paige ended up with walking pnemonia right after Christmas and was on antibiotics til a week after new years. She started off sounding like she had a cold, then the Saturday after Christmas she started running a high fever and wouldn't eat or drink. I took her to the weekend clinic at her pediatrician and the one she saw said: There's nothing wrong with her throat or her ears, give her some Tylenol for the fever, purple dimatap 3 times a day and benodryl at night. Well that night she slept even less so I took her the Urgent Care (same building as her Dr) and the said her throat is raw and swollen and her fever was 101. They drew blood and said she had walking pnemonia. The funny thing was when I went to check her in they said "it looks like your insurance info was just updated yesterday morning so I don't need it" I said "It was, I took her upstairs and they said she was fine". You better believe if her regular pediatrician is ever over booked they better never give me the one who saw her that morning. (Think they'll make a note in her file that I never want him to see my daughter again....lol)

Anyway, hope to be back on a lot now that things have slowed down for me here at work, hope that's okey with you all as well.

Sorry the doctor misdiagnosed. I had the same thing happen when Wesley was 9 months--I knew he had ear infection by the way he was pulling on his ear and acting. The doctor that saw him (not our normal pediatrician) said that Wesley was faking it for attention.???

So the next day I took him to our normal ped (in the same office), yup, ear infection, ended up wtih tubes in. Saw the quack doctor in the hall and he tried to be all friendly and ask how Wesley was and he went to give him a high five. I twisted really quick so he couldn't touch Wesley and I lit into him. Anytime we have to make an appt and our doc isn't available, I tell the scheduler that I absolutely refuse to see Dr. Quacky as I now call him.

Seriously. What 9 month old knows how to fake an ear infection????????????????????????

Anyways, sorry to hijack the thread. It is JUST SO frustrating to see a doctor ignore your problem regarding your kid.

It is great to "see" you Kat! I hope that Paige is feeling better. Sorry that she had to go an extra day without treatment because of a quack doctor.
