Default What is the worst thing you've stepped on?

...yesterday I was trying to close the drapes to make it dark for my son to nap, and I ended up stepping on a toy train. Mind you, a big plastic train, but it left such an impression in my foot it still hurts today.

I was wondering - with all the moms and kids out there - or anyone else - what's the worst thing you've ever stepped on?

    Poop of any kind.

When I was in high school, I was in marching band and we played for a lot of parades. The drill sergeant band director let us know that we were expected to stay in step and formation, no matter what. Somehow, our band always followed the horses............ enough said........

I also have stepped in baby poop, or rather toddler poop. The darling just took off his diaper in a dark room, and ewwwwwww!

When I was a kid, tho, I deliberately stepped in cow pies when I went to round up the cows barefoot. Sounds gross, but it warmed my feet and protected them from the rocks. And I could always hose my feet off when I got back to the barn. Yeh, I know...........

    Thumbtack and broken lightbulb.

The only thing with me is I have peripherial neuropathy which means I have no feeling in my hands and feet. I did not feel either one. I am also at a high risk for amputation that could be brought on by the smallest of injuries to my hands or feet. I no longer walk ANYWHERE without shoes on and am very careful with my fingers/hand and what I touch.

Sorry for your pain! As a Mom it would have to be Lego's! As a child, running around barefooted and stepping on a snake. I can still imagine that slimmy feeling! Ick!

I've found the two extremes... a slug and a bee. The rest of the stuff I tend to "get over" quicker.

Do you REALLY want me to answer that? I'm a 44 year old farmwife that tends to run around barefoot from last frost to first frost and beyond, lol, so you name it I've stepped in/on it

The ABSOLUTE worst though was at 20, stepped on a glass and broke it, cut the outside of my left foot BADLY! I'm a wuss though, by the time they got me to the Dr. the next day it was to late to stitch, still have the scar.

The grossest though it either turkey or wild goose "squat" as we call it here, ewwww, and STINK!!

LOL, told you that you didn't want me to answer

And right now I've got a hay splinter in the heel of my left foot that HURTS!

A sharp earring that I had to pull out of the bottom of my foot when I was 13 years old. Most recently it was cat puke.

My worst? I stepped on a huge hedge thorn, that went clear through my foot -- from top to bottom, in the instep. As I was hopping around trying to get it out, I stomped on a board with a nail, in my other foot -- driving it all the way through my foot in the ball. My mom had to carry me to the house, and pull the both out.

My little sister though-- tops them all. We were kids, and playing on the combine. She decided to jump off into the weeds. Someone of us kids had left a rigid rake in the grass -- with the tines UP -- she landed with both feet on the rake's tines-- and drove them all through both feet. *yuck*

When I was a kid, I tripped over my brother's Tricky Busy Schoolbus and my toes got cut by a window. (It sounds pretty funny, now.) I wrapped my foot in a towel and called my mom to the bathroom. When I took the towel off to show her, we both almost passed out. One toe was cut deeply underneath at the joint, and I had to go the ER and get stitches.

Lesson learned - it's all fun and games until someone needs stitches.
