My 14 mo. old is in the hospital...
I don't have much time but I'll copy and paste from things I've already typed....
Saturday:
Hannah has been throwing up since 6:30 PM. She's so pale and now is having dry heaves. We've called the on call dr. and so far nothing we can do more than let her drink if she will even if she throws up after. She's so pale. No fever.
And of course dh has a trip to go on for work tom. AM.
Monday:
She's still very ill. She even threw up her reflux med this AM. She had no urine output from 6 PM thru 7 AM. She has an appt. to see the dr. at 10 AM today. I'll update later.
We are being sent to the ER based on her BW.
Tuesday:
Well, dd was treated in the ER after waiting 5 hours. Then right before she was due to be released I got very ill. I guess if you are going to be ill the ER is the place to do it. Technically they weren't supposed to treat me (I should have been sent out to triage and wait all over again), but the nurses fought for me since dh is out of town. We didn't get home until 1 AM. Ds was being watched by a friend of mine and started throwing up while dd and I were still in the ER.
I'm so weak I can barely pick up dd. Dh isn't coming home until Wednesday. Dd is still very weak as is all of us.
Wednesday's Update:
We went back to the ER Tuesday afternoon. We spent 22 hours in the ER and then were just moved to the Ped. wing.
She's been dx with strep so far and is having blood sugar issues. She will not take anything by mouth. NOTHING. She was initially admitted for dehydration.
She's had IVs running non-stop. She's so week she can't even hold her head up. She has the strength of a newborn.
I'm very worried and freaked out.
I need all of y'all to please add Hannah to your prayers.
Friday:
She's still in the hospital. Yes, my dh got back home on Wed. only to turn up sick on Thursday so I got no relief at the hospital. She finally smiled and started playing a little on Thurs. She ate applesauce and cherrios for the 1st time yesterday. Hopefully today they will advance her diet to allow her to have juice and formula because she's stopped drinking the electrolites again. I think she's just done with it after 5 days. If she can drink enough liquid volume to make the dr.s happy we might have a chance to get discharged before the weekend.
They've about blown every good vein she has for bloodwork and I don't know how much longer they are going to be able to stick her. At least 2xs they stuck her and the blood work was not able to be done on the sample. It makes me so mad.
She can't walk because they have the IV in her foot. She just wants to go home. You can see it in her eyes. She only sleeps on me. After 5 days of this I'm exhausted. I told dh he is on duty tonight no matter the situation. I just can't do it anymore. I'm home now for a few hours to shower and start some laundry. Ds is in school today finally.
Continue to keep her in your prayers. Pray she drinks enough to get better without the IV and if we come home she doesn't regress.

Sorry to hear this. It's seems so contradictory that the hospital is one of the hardest places to get a decent rest in!
