Default Stumbled On Some Good Deals

Good deals on food are sparse here, but I stumbled onto a few tonight after picking up dd#2 from work. 4.99 for 18lbs(not a typo- there are 18lbs in the bag) of oranges, .99 cents for 7 lbs of bananas(got the last bag of discount bananas) & peterpan peanut butter was still $1 for an 18 oz jar(bought 20 of those)
dd#3 was just complaining that we don't have fresh fruit as often as we use to.

You did get some good deals. Our Ingles store had the Peter Pan for .88 cents. I had one $1.00 off coupon, so got paid .12 cents to buy it and then I bought a few more for .88 cents each.

No Shoprite here. HEB has most of the monopoly, then there is a SuperWalmart, Sam's & SunHarvest(I go there to buy my herbs).
I found the deals at HEB.
I wish that I could've found coupons for peterpan to bring the cost down more Peterpan is the only brand that we can find anymore that we can eat(soy-free) & Sam's hasn't sold it in over a year...so the kids are in peanutbutter heaven now.lol
Dollar tree had been selling a brand that was soy-free too- but they dropped that product too.bummer.
We have had to cut back on the fresh fruit b/c of the rising prices-so this was truly a godsend

If anyone is near an A&P they have a good size bag of oranges (8lbs) for 2.00 this week, also some nice bunches of broccoli for .97 each, peter pan is 1.00 there also.Oh, also 75% lean chopped meat, .99 per pound, but you must buy 5 pounds. And of course with all these deals you must use your A&P card.

Wow! HEB had those deals? Those re awesome. I'm going to have to get by there later to see if they still have them.

Brenda, HEB is a chain of grocery stores in Texas, and mainly south Texas. They've been around about 100 years and truly do have a monopoly in the area. Even in our big city, the only grocery stores are HEB and Super WalMart. I have to say that the customer service at HEB is outstanding, at least in my experience, but I do wish we had more choices in shopping and I wish we had stores which would double coupons.
