How many of you regularly eat dessert?
My DS9 and I were talking last night about his penchant for dessert practically every night after dinner. Growing up, I didn't really expect dessert every night after dinner, although my Grandma often had something sweet available. We usually enjoyed some sort of sweet treat with our 4 o'clock tea rather than after dinner. Which led me to wonder how many of you serve dessert on a regular basis and what kinds of desserts to you like to have?

We hardly ever have them. Even when DS was younger we didn't. Now I'm on a diet, due to eating to much junk.

Almost every night-nothing elaborate. Fruit, cookies, pudding, sometimes pie or cake. I'd say fruit about 4 out of 7 nights.

I rarely make a specific desert. Occasionally I'll makde some tapico, or a cake that we eat on for a few days. But mostly it's just cookies, or soemthing like that that I just have around. If my kids ask tonight, it'll be vanilla wafers, or a piece of candy from their christmas stockings that they have left. (I know, exciting, huh?

When i was little it was normal to have dessert every night. Usually we had fruit, jello in fruit, some sort of cobbler w/ milk which either didn't have much sugar or was sugar free or more rarely sherbert or ice cream.. my grandfather was diabetic.

We have something sweet most nights-- either sale purchased ice cream, jello with fruit, pudding, pie (made from home grown fruits and homemade crust), or sometimes it's just grilled fruit with a bit of thickened/warmed juice drizzled on it.

As an adult i do not have dessert often ... i still have some tiramisu i made in the freezer.. isn't quite right but close. I made Rice Krispy treats for joe .. *lol* they are all gone today except one and i only had one chunk *lol*
Normally i will make Bread pudding from stale homemade bread, banana pudding, carrot cake, brownies, strawberry short cake w/sweet biscuit bottoms instead of cake and real just whipped whip cream or we will just have a peice of bread pumpkin, banana, or apple. I make it all with half to 1/4 the sugar the recipe calls for though. Or just open a can of fruit straight from the fridge
sunshine~ yup your talking one of Joes Fav's there ... Cooked apples with a little cinnamon and brown sugar.

I don't keep food like that around, and DBF doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. Every once in a while he'll buy ice cream or I'll make some cookies. I love dessert, but I'm glad we don't have it!

We never had dessert after dinner when I was growing up, so DBF and I don't have dessert much. Maybe one night a week, we will have a bowl of ice cream as a treat.

Growing up we only had dessert on birthdays or major holidays. That's also the way I do things now.

We seem to have in often. Growing up my Mom always had it. We also like to have something sweet at "tea time"(we have this sometimes in the afternoon before dinner). We have cake, pies, fruit or ice cream(That's one of the food groups, isn't it?
