    Default Went "shopping" this weekend...

So, DBF decided he wanted to do a BBQ dinner for a couple we know that invites us over frequently for dinner, so he wanted to go grocery shopping and I tagged along. I was curious about the prices of things that I have stored at my place. When I decided to stock my pantry, I stocked up on 1 lb bags of many different dried beans. All of them were less than $1/bag. When I priced these things this weekend, the LOWEST price I could find was $1.49! Most were closer to $2. I don't know why, but this shocked me. Luckily I still have quite a bit stored up, but what happens when I have to get more? I think I may run into the spanish market and see if their prices are better. I just can't see paying more than $1/lb for dried beans. When I lived in CA I could get pinto beans for less than $.25/lb.

I would honestly suggest stocking up now since prices of EVERYTHING are on the rise everywhere but $1 a bag is pretty good, have you tried stores like Aldi's or Costco?

Yes, we went to Costco this weekend, and the only beans they have are pintos, but the price is right: 25 lbs for $13.93, so that's about $.56/lb. I will be getting the pintos, but I like to vary my selection, too. I haven't checked Walmart, because that store drives me insane! I know there has to be somewhere around me that I can get them - just have to keep looking.
