Newbie who feels overwhelmed...
Hello, I'm Sandra. I live in southwest Georgia. We have just moved here from the Savannah area. Our house in Savannah still hasn't been sold and we are having to rent a house in the new town.
I'm a SAHM of a 4 yr old boy. I was a teacher before I had my son. I had to stop working due to a heart condition. We have been lucky that I receive LTD payments. It is a lot less than my normal pay but much better than nothing at all.
I sat down with my husband last night and figured out all of our debt. I knew it was going to be bad. However, I wasn't prepared for how bad it was.
I had been doing things for the past year to cut back on our bills and had really put more effort in the past 6 months. I guess I was hoping to see a lower bottom line.
Well, here I am. I'm looking for help and a good kick in my back side to keep me focused on my goals. My biggest issue is going to be keeping my husband on track. It is really hard to keep trying when I feel like he does things to undermine our goals.
So, any help and tips you can give me will be well appreciated. Thanks

Welcome.
If you want to post some more info I am sure we can help you.
Do you have any talents that you could use to bring in more income from home? Maybe you could tutor from your home?

Welcome to the Village!

You took the best first step by looking your situation in the eye. It may seem illusive now but you wait & see, it'll get lot's better.

Well first off
to the village!
Now, babysteps....and I'm not just talking about Dave Ramsey although he's a great place to start. If you haven't read it, check his book Total Money Makeover out at the library and read it cover to cover. Then every little success you have, share it enthusiastically with your dh, he'll eventually 'get it'...in the meantime don't give up...just keep on keepin' on. Things will get better, eventually
