I was for about a year and it drove me crazy. I need to be out of the house at least part time so working 15-20 hours/week has really made a difference for me.

I am a stay at home wife. I work from home on my graduate degree.
Most days I enjoy it, however sometimes I miss being around people. I may start looking for part time work or volunteer work (no more than 10 hours a week).
My DH and I are planning on me staying home once we have children, so we are trying to live off of one income. When I finish my degree, I may work to pay down some debt and buy a house.

DH retired in September , so I am now.

Was a SAHM a few years ago when the kiddies were younger.
I love it. There is enough around here to keep me busy. Plus aging parents, and 2 dogs.
I finally don't have to fly around uber-early in the AM getting breakfast and packing lunches, ironing something last minute..... I can sit and have a leisurely cup of coffee most mornings and read the paper. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

I am! Kids are grown & flown, just the 2 of us & the cat, lol.
I may go back to work tho when hubby retires (or before) to bring in some extra.
My family has always enjoyed having someone at home, takes some sacrifice and am glad I've been able to do be the one keeping the home fires burning.
Hey Anna , you & I are in the same boat, my dh will be retiring soon too.

I am a SAHW with no kids and none planned. I had to quit work 6 years ago to take care of my disabled Momma. We now live at her house (to avoid having her put into a nursing home) I still have my own house and sure do miss having our privacy and freedom.

I am a stay at home wife and I too love it. I have tried to go back to work but everyone wants 10 hours a week at min. wage. which if I lived right by them it would be ok. But it would be more in gas than it is worth. Sometimes I get cabin fever but rarely. I do have a 13 year old sd too.
