EF!!!
I am a new convert to Dave Ramsey and as from January 1st my DH and I have been following his methods.
We had started our EF and were doing quite well.
Of course Murphy came and visited just when we least expected!
EF gone up in smoke.
We have never actually had an emergency fund before and I found myself feeling quite pleased and relieved having a little money put away for emergencies.
Actually it was great feeling!!
Now here it comes - something that I have never had before - well at least not consciously - I have a small feeling of panic now - I HAVE to get that feeling of security/well-being back as soon as possible by having an EF in place, so we have started the EF again WITH A VENGEANCE.
We can hardly wait to get it back to a 'normal' level again.
Anyone else know this feeling?*Avril*

I know exactly how you feel Dutchie. I started our emergency fund with a little windfall as a New Year's Resolution. I had to dip into it yesterday for a repair. Ackk! I cannot wait to top it back up! I love having that money there - I will never go back to a time with no money in the bank!
Hang in there - with this kind of determination you will have the money back in no time!

Yes, I can relate. We needed ours to cover our dog's surgery and are starting over now.

Yes... we had to dip into ours for DD18 to have her wisdom teeth removed. I wanted to get the money back in ASAP just in case something else came up. It's nice to know it is there.

Yes, we are just making ours again. I can only put in $25.00 a week, but it is all I have left over. Slow and steady. Will fill better when it gets up a bit. Hang in there..

Yes, I felt the same way as you. It is like a safety net and sense of security.

I know how you feel. I need new brakes on the car and if it's not in the budget, well, I know the EF is there. I'm going to try to keep it in the budget though!

Love that feeling of security and get that same "put it back ASAP" too when I dip into it.
