Thursday Before The Storm - What are you doing?

I can't wait to see how it will be tomorrow am - 24 hrs from now. The snow will start and will hamper am rush hour near and in the Toronto area - as per all the radio weather reports. I look out at the sky this am, though dark and its beautiful. Absoloutely beautiful out. So quiet, not a thing is moving outside - its actually peaceful. Then it hits me, this is the calm before the storm. OY!!!
So today after work, I am going to top up the gas in my truck, top up the washer fluid, dig out the winter boots and ice scrapers and put my mini shovel into the truck. My journey to work is only 5 mins but I think will be 15 mins in the am and then 40 on the way home if it snows all day tomorrow like its forcasted to. 20-25 cm's!!
Bundle up, gather up your candles/matches, flashlights with batteries or charge them up as well as your cell phone, gather canned food and water etc. Warm blankies too. Snow in am, then freezing snow/rain. Grrrr!
What are y'all doing today? Prepping for the storm as well? Oh and I may try to go swimming as well.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

I think we are out of the storms path, at least for now! We are suppose to get some snow early next week, but I don't think it is too much...thank goodness! I'm ready for spring!
I will not be doing too much today, as I accomplished a TON yesterday! I am working to finish painting my kitchen cabinets, and maybe making some bread and baked goods to get us through the weekend and next week. But other than that, I'll be taking DS to school and lurking around the house!

I'm going grocery shopping today, first time I've done that alone in a while. Hubby has had the day off & we've combined trips the past few times it had to be done. Sure was nice to have him with me to help feed the cans & bottles for recycling into the machines but no fun for shopping, get in & get out, no browsing. Hope I don't have to fight little old ladies for the tp, I'm getting it because it's on my list of regular stuff, they are getting it in case the weather is bad & they can't get out for 2 days.
Also going to do a load of laundry and cook up some bargain I pick up while out today.
Have a great day all!~*Darlene*~

I have a 3 hr work load then lunch with a girlfriend. DH and I are heading out to look at a possible rental property this afternoon. Then it is home to bake the stuffed shells I didn't cook last night for dinner.

I need to do some more laundry.
Do the dishes.
Go to the dr. and get a CT scan of my sinus (oh joy!--not)
Try to rest some as I didn't sleep well at all last night & I'm trying to recover from my sinus infection.
Dinner? Don't know what that'll be yet.

We are expected to get it tomorrow too. We already got lambasted yesterday with all the wind, freezing rain, and 5 inches of snow w/ blizzard conditions. The kids had no school & I'm fully prepared for them to at the very least have a delay tomorrow

Not much going on today. I have laundry & vacuuming to do. Also need to work out. I'm either going to do a Free Exercise on Demand program or pull the treadmill in front of the tv & watch a movie or something.
Still need to take the chicken out for dinner tonight. Then it's pick up the kids, homework, dinner, baths & bed. I may have to run out for more cat food though. Grrr. They always tell me AFTER I go to the store

We're suppose to get something Friday, but from what I can tell, only 1-2" and then turns to rain. The Old Man normally has Fridays off, but he has to do a special delivery...
Today I ~
brought DD to school
brought Old Man to work
washed laundry for the Ex
wrote my blog
I still have to ~
give the Ex a shower
tidy up the Ex's house
go to the bank to make a deposit
go to the post office to mail taxes
get DD from school
bring DD to Chemistry Fun Club
get the Old Man from work
pop dinner in the oven
write the Try-It for the Brownies (Girl Scouts) meeting Tuesday
get ready for Friday
If I am lucky I will ~
clean the kitchen beyond counters
bag up the things I blogged about
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Yeah, I was listening to the scanner when it happened. The interstate was closed from 2pm to 6pm southbound. OY! Talk about a mess!! It even made the national news! They mentioned it on The Early Show this morning...
Dh had to work, but thankfully only works a few blocks away (until next week when he starts his new job). I stayed home, safe & warm
There were times I couldn't even see the houses across the street from the wind whipping the snow around. A few gusts were so strong they blew my INSIDE shutters open...through the storm window, through the indoor window and blew the shutters right open

Our weather is pretty mild today. We have wind and rain tomorrow but there is so much salt on the roads that it might be a good thing, to wash all that away (in to the ocean I guess, not so good, don't know why they need to use salt
).
So far I've
~dropped kids at school - dd had some kind of mystery orangey stuff around her mouth, like dorrito cheese powder, but she doens't eat that and it was 8am?!
~coffee, working
tonight I have to work out at the YMCA, and for some reason I have a desire for a chocolate cream pie. They have these yummy expensive ones down the street but to be frugal I'll try and make one. I know I have a pie crust waiting in the freezer too. Then the usual try and clean up whatever nightmare condition the house is in, then off to bed. Have a great day everyone!
