Go into labor when you get there.
That might get you released

It is worth a try to get out of it at least until a later date, just not sure if they will do that. Good luck to you.

I don't know .. i do know that i really need to go to these appointments because i HAVE to go to the Lamaze and Breastfeeding classes, my OBGYN visits, & Joe's Dr visits. I can't change the times most likely enough to get around being at court all day, which would be frustrating.

I just got through with Jury duty in January. I would think you could post-pone it because you are so far along in your pregnancy. Try to do something because I ended up on a murder/kidnapping/burglary trial that had the possibility of a death sentence!!!!!
I would have never been able to sit through everything while pregnant and my nerves would have absolutely been shot. If all else fails maybe your doctor would give you a note.

When they are interviewing you, hold your tummy, lean forward and say "owwww, sorry about that, he/she is a kicker, I don't know how I will make it to April since the doctor says he/she is very active."
Eh.... maybe not... but I know I wouldn't want a jury member screaming out all the time... let alone have them sequestered!
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I was called for jury duty when I was about 8 months pregnant with my DS. I basically wrote a note on the summons stating that I was eight months along and that I was requesting to be excused due to the possibility of going into labor while serving. I was excused without any problem.

I'll bet you can get excused...
I feel your pain though. A couple of years ago I was called 3 times in a year and then had to serve on a grand jury to boot! I was feeling as if I had a great big target on my back!

I was called once, but got excused due to being a new mom. I had info with the summons, if it were to cause hardship to write a letter stating why, potentially going into labor during a trial, is NOT a good thing. You should be able to get excused. Something like that could casue a mistrial at a huge expense.

I got Jury duty when I was preggo. I got my OBGYN to write me a note to excuse me from it. Physically with a huge belly (I was 7.5 months) It would have been hard for me to sit for long periods of time and not have to use the potty a zillion times. They excused me.

I love going to jury duty. I find it fascinating and I've been called a bunch of times. The one time I ended up on a case, it was so interesting. However, every time I go, about half the people get excused right away so I"m sure you'll get out of it no problem.

I would not worry at all. I was called to jury duty while 6 months pregnant; they took one look and released me. Just think about-- no one wants to deal with a pregnant's woman's bladder during a trial- let along worrying if they were going to go into labor. Good luck :-)

Yeah i got a note from my Dr. He was kidding me about it saying i would be fine all with a straight face. He is ornery Goodness.
Hopefully, they take it i do not want to be the juror needing help to get out of the chair and to get to their car like i was at work here the other week. Cause i finally found the chair that doesn't make my back hurt very much a little stiff, but i can walk out of work. KWIM
I do not know if they will take the note, but the nurse told me if they wouldn't take it then have them call them immediately. So maybe i will not have to go sit in court, but if i do have to go i don't look forward to it. Cause the lady when i asked about exemptions made it sound like you had to be on your death bed with a note from your DR period.
I have maternity leave coming up already worrying about $ for that so i can't loose work time right now. I have the baby coming and depending on if i would get superiour or a smaller court case it could mean being siqestered a month to just having to be mornings at the court house for a few days.
