I guess he put it on hold, so he can re-enter later?

Doesn't make much sense to me. Guess will wait & see what happens.

I think that by putting it on hold, he gets to keep his delegates(the party divides them if he drops out), but I'm not 100% sure how it works.

I am a conservative, and I was interested in hearing what he stood for and his plans. But I really did not have a chance to hear too much about his platform. What do you think this will do overall?

Disappointed. I'm a Huckabee fan and voted for him on Tuesday. I will be very disappointed if McCain is the democratic nominee.

No, honey...McCain just LOOKS and SOUNDS like a Democrat nominee ...sorry, I know you made a slip, but truer words were never spoken.
As for "what will happen", well, my opinion is worth just what you paid for it, but I think he can pull it off IF he picks Mike Huckabee as his VP. In a way, it's pure genius of the Rep. Party to work in a liberal candidate, knowing how the country feels about the current administration. He's a "Republican" but not really, KWIM? I think he's a Democrat wearing a Republican name tag, but I would still vote for him over Hillary. I also may disagree with his politics, but his POW time earns him respect from me.
He has his own supporters("national security" conservatives), he can get the "Evangelical conservatives" by keeping Huckabee on the ticket, he'll get the "fiscal conservatives" by default, because even though they hate his plans, it's still not as drastic as HC's. He will also bring in the Obama camp who are Dems voting more against Hillary than for Obama, and those who are with him because of they hate the pandering to lobbyists and their campaign financing that HC has done.
It is frustrating, though...as a conservative, that we have NO ONE, and this is our penance for the last election. The Republican party can't win today without a liberal candidate, so it's either lose miserably or play the game. I've also heard Colin Powell and Libby Dole(who I adore, and she's not just a woman in the White House, but a LADY) mentioned as potential running mates for McCain...both good choices.
I don't know, however, if a McCain ticket could beat an Obama/Edwards ticket...so alot will depend on the final 2 candidates. One thing I have noticed, though...is that there is talk of who the VP choices might be, I saw an interview where they asked Obama if he would accept an offer to be Hillary's VP(but not the same of her)...but have not heard names mentioned for who she would chose?? Can she ask Bill? That one might be a landslide victory...many who vote for Hillary do so because they want Bill back, even if it's just as a "pillow talk advisor".
So there's my 3 cents plus change!!

Yep, he didnt drop out, he just put a hold on his campaign. By doing so he gets to keep his delegates.

But they still asked him the question...has anyone asked Hillary if SHE would lower herself to be VP?

I am very disappointed that he dropped out. We have no true conservative in this race now. I will still vote for McCain, but will hold my nose while doing so.

There seems to be a huge double standard when it appears to Hillary. At some event a citizen asked McCain someone about 'that bitch Hillary' (apologize for the language, it's a quote!) and when McCain didn't defend Hillary, news channels went nuts and freaked out saying that McCain was horrible.

When a similar situation happened and a citizen referred to Bush as 'that bastard Bush' she just smiled and answered the question. No news stations said a waord.

I really have not been able to figure out how Romney became the conservative candidate. Just because he says so? Check his record as Gov of Mass. He was nowhere near conservative. But, I guess if Rush Limbaugh et al keep saying it, it becomes true. I honestly don't get it.
That being said, as an Obama fan, I would have liked to see him get the nom. He would never win in the fall. This country is not about to elect a Mormon. Centrist McCain has a much better chance.
