    Default Grrrr... the ^&*% TV!!!

    I have been remodeling for what seems like forever...

    The cable is on one wall, and I am so sick of having it there! I can't really put my sofa anywhere else because the room is longer than it is wide, I have a slider on one side and the open area/hall/kitchen and a door on the other.

    I would like to move the tv to the parallel wall, but that means... wires *sigh* I hate the look of wires, and I don't know what to do.

    I could run the wire up the side of the slider, across the top of the curtain rod and down the other side, and it would give us more room because the tv will no longer be on the 'non-opening' side of the slider. The Old Man assures me he could hide the wires.

    Having the cable company move the wire isn't an option, I asked back in 1998 and there is no way because there is stairs on the opposite off the wall I want the tv on (no access to under the stairs) and coming in from outside isn't an option because it's brick and the condo association said I can't get it drilled.

    What would you do?

    We moved ours. Many times..lol. We follow the heating ducts or cold air returns. Then we're able to fish it out. I hate wires allover too.

    Is there any way you could run the wires inside the walls? Just a thought.
    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”
    — From a translation of an inscription on
    an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.

    courage to change the things I can,
    and the wisdom to know the difference

    that's what we do too. We took ours all the way from basement to second floor too. Takes a little time but isn't hard to do. 2 person job. You and the "Old Man" could do it easy. Hot Date,

    You could also run up and around slider and with proper tacking down, you won't even notice wire probably. Or run along floor (around perimeter) and go in front of slider and use a rubber cable mat to hide it and be able to walk over it... or just cover with decorative rug there.

    We ran ours down next to the heating ducks, along the basement ceiling (unfinished basement) and back up through a tiny drilled hole (can't even see it under the baseboard) to the other side of the room.

    Do you have carpet in that room? If so, we've often just stuffed the cable under the baseboard where the carpet tucks under. Its not visable that way, then just bring it up where you want. I'm with you, wires are ugly.
