Talking Not a frugal day at all

so now I must confess my sins!!!! First--dh decided to surprise me and we are going away over night on Saturday--that's okay though, because it's FREE. Someone is letting us use their time share. BUT where we're going is surrounded by outlets. I smell a shopping trip coming on......

BUT today I got my hair done (in my defense, it is now my natural color so it will be much easier to keep up), bought a new outfit, and some lingerie for Valentines Day. The outfit is AMAZING and I NEVER put something on in a store and think "wow--this looks good", but this did and so I bought it. Skirt, top, and tights for $60. I will not say how much I paid for my hair because it's embarrassing. And I think I would be asked to leave f.v. immediately.

You know what, though? I'm not sorry for it. Here's my way of rationalizing....DH and I NEVER get to get away without the kiddos. I want to look great and feel great for this time we're together. Not only for me, but for him, too. KWIM? I work and live in jeans and sweaters or plain tops and I just felt like we both deserved it.

I'll never cop to what I pay for my hair. That's part of the reason why I save in some to spend on what I think is important.

I have always found the occasional splurge always makes me feel more frugal!!!!!!!! It helps keep me on track.

Yeah, but seeing his appriciative gaze will definately make up for any guilt you may have for spending a little extra !!

You may want to take a burp cloth or something to wipe up his drool * giggles*

Yeah... But, you know, the money you spent is probably way cheaper than therapy.

I say Good for You! If you can't splurge here and there, then the frugality loses some of it's luster IMHO. Besides, we all need a bit of pampering and not feeling good about yourself is a bad place to be. Now with renewed confidence you will attack all other areas with gusto.

    Have a great getaway!
